The ANU Australian Football Club (ANUAFC), together with partners KJR are pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 ANUAFC Women’s Leadership Scholarship. Building on our Women’s Leadership Program over the past 4 years, the ANUAFC is excited to welcome KJR to the team to sponsor the 2021-2023 Scholarship. After a tumultuous 2020, KJR has stayed committed to Women’s leadership and community sport by continuing their support through to the new season.

This scholarship will be worth $5,000 per annum for up to 3 years of study at ANU. Scholarship holders will also be provided leadership and career development opportunities, both at the football club and as a speaker and ambassador for the ANUAFC, ANU and partners.

KJR, an IT and Technology strategic advisory firm based around Australia are committed to supporting Women’s leadership and have previously collaborated with Intelli HQ to bring together the Young Women’s Leadership in AI initiative.

“We’re incredibly excited to be supporting the ANUAFC with this program to encourage, develop, and grow Women’s Leadership not just within the ANUAFC, but in the broader ANU community,” said Andrew Hammond, ACT General Manager, KJR.

“As a STEM-based industry provider, we understand the importance of building Women’s expertise and experience in leadership, not just for their careers but in all aspects of their lives”

ANUAFC President Sam Bargwanna said, “We’re incredibly proud to be launching this program for the fourth year. This program has and will continue to encourage success at our club, not just for the individual recipients but across both the Men’s and Women’s teams. We’re thrilled to have KJR on board this year and very excited to be working together to continue to build our Leadership Program over the next three years.”

Of the Scholarship Program, 2019 scholarship recipient Eloise McLean said, “Already, after my first two years holding the scholarship, I have been presented with so many opportunities for growth and personal development, on and off the field! I am so grateful for the support the club, ANU Sport and my sponsor have given me to progress as a leader in as a sportswoman and professionally. I’m looking forward to working with the 2021 recipient and watching her thrive on the ground as part of the team, as well as in her study and career.’
