The Australian National University Australian Football Club (ANUAFC), in partnership with Geocon, is proud to announce the 2019 AFL Women’s Leadership Scholarship.
Geocon and the ANUAFC will provide a platform to support, communicate and promote the importance of diversity and female leadership. The scholarship is designed to support women on the field, on campus, in business and in the community.

Geocon’s collaboration with the ANUAFC supports this initiative, tackling barriers for women in industry and in sport,’said, Melanie Hindson, Director Marketing and Corporate Affairs.

This is the third consecutive year ANUAFC has offered this scholarship, beginning in 2017 to celebrate the inaugural AFLW competition.
‘Holding the scholarship means so much to me, and has provided opportunities beyond my life on the field. The trust, support and friendship shown at the ANUAFC has provided me with experience, networks and leadership training. I’m excited that another young woman will be given this incredible opportunity to pursue their goals!’ said 2018 scholarship winner, Alex Williams.
The 2019 scholarship is worth $5,000 per year for the period of the recipient’s study program at ANU. The scholarship holder will also be provided leadership and career development opportunities, both at the football club and as speaker and ambassador for theANUAFC, Geocon and ANU Sport.
Kicking goals since 1961, we welcome all participants to the ANUAFC, so take the chance and join the greatest sport on earth.
Applications for the 2019 scholarship are now open and close Friday 1 March 2019.
