The Australian National University Australian Football Club (ANUAFC), in partnership with ANU Sport and AFL Canberra, is proud to offer a new AFL Women’s Leadership Scholarship starting this year! In the inaugural year of the AFL Women’s competition, ANUAFC would like to share in the celebration by offering a Women’s AFL Scholarship, the first of its kind. This Scholarship reflects the ANUAFC’s commitment to women’s leadership in sport, on campus, in career, and in the community.
What is on offer?
This scholarship will be worth $5,000 per annum, for the duration of your study program at ANU. Scholarship holders will also be provided leadership and career development opportunities, both at the football club and as speaker and ambassador for the ANUAFC, ANU and AFL Canberra. A maximum of one scholarship will be awarded in 2017, and each year thereafter, noting that ANUAFC, ANU Sport and AFL Canberra reserve the right not to award a scholarship in any given year. What are the expectations for the successful scholarship holder? The successful scholarship holder will be expected to:

- train with and play football for the ANUAFC, acting as a club leader both on and off the field;
- be available to be involved in intervarsity competitions; and
- participate in speaking and ambassador roles for ANUAFC, ANU Sport and AFL Canberra.
Who can apply?
All women who are studying at the ANU, or have been accepted into an ANU study program, or who have applied to study at the ANU, and have demonstrated sporting and leadership skills are welcome to apply.
How will applications be assessed?
